International City/County Management Association (ICMA) SU Student Chapter

The ICMA is the leading organization of local government professionals dedicated to creating and sustaining thriving communities throughout the world. They offer local leaders in public management a variety of services: professional development programs, resources, and an environment to share best practices in local government. The SU chapter helps send aspiring public servants to the ICMA conference and to Albany for networking.

New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC)
The DDC is NYC’s primary capital construction project manager. They design or renovate public infrastructure for NYC and also help design crucial public infrastructure, such as water and sewer utilities. SU students participate in their Town+Gown programs, a city-wide university-community partnership program to develop research solutions for infrastructure design.

Student P3 Study Group

Syracuse University undergraduates, from Engineering, Whitman, Arts & Sciences, and Maxwell, collectively participate in evaluating the benefits of public private partnerships. Their research is in its second year of development. It is being used to better inform public representatives about the current state of and potential for P3 contracts in the United States.
